Dr. Georgios I. Karampoutakis is a psychiatrist and lecturer at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, where he also obtained his master’s degree.
He was trained in psychiatry at the A’ Psychiatric Clinic of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, in Aiginiteio Hospital.
He held the position of Scientific Collaborator at the Psychiatric Clinic of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, the General Oncology Hospital “Agioi Anargyroi” in Kifissia as well as the Community Mental Health Center of Zografou from 02/2016 – 02/2018.
He is a clinical psychiatrist at the Henry Dunant Hospital Center.
Since May 2018, he holds the position of elected Vice President (President Elect) of the Hellenic American Psychiatric Association.
He has vast experience in interpersonal communication, establishing trust within a therapeutic relationship and working with people facing adversities, whether their origin is biological, psychological or social.
Dr Karampoutakis is also experienced in the treatment of panic attacks, stress, anxiety, phobias, depression, obsessive-compulsive disorder, sleep disorders, neuroses, psychoses, psychosomatic disorders and interpersonal difficulties, alcohol and other substance – related disorders, posttraumatic stress disorder, adjustment problems as well as sexual disorders.
He is an acclaimed psychiatrist in the fields of psychopharmacology and psychotherapy.
He specializes in Forensic Psychiatry and serves as a technical advisor of civil and criminal psychiatric cases. He is also an Accredited Mediator of the Ministry of Justice. Finally, he has vast experience as a Court Appointed Forensic Psychiatric Evaluator.
Accredited evaluation tools for the assessment of mental health are used in order to provide certificates necessary for the appointment in public sector positions, as well as for firearm possession.
